Sagem announces world’s smallest GPRS module
[France’s Sagem Communications launches HiLo, the smallest GPRS module in the world, designed to implement embedded M2M communication.]
With this new revolutionary product, Sagem Communications launches a leading edge product that will address the market requirements for the ever increasing number of applications which implement embedded M2M communication. Utilising the latest GPRS technology in a module which is no larger than a stamp! The SAGEM HiLo module will give M2M developers the ideal solution they have been asking for, in terms of features, size, price, usability, and reliability.
GPRS quad band with embedded TCP/IP stacks, SAGEM HiLo is perfectly suited to applications that have space limitations, which require a small and compact design, such as point of sales terminals, trackers and security.
With its extremely small size - 27×27 mm - and weight - 4 grams - the SAGEM HiLo is the smallest wireless M2M module available on the market.
Its very low power consumption (<1,5mA in idle mode) and its guaranteed 3,2 V minimum power supply make it the best solution for battery-powered devices. In addition, its extended operational temperature range -- from -40 degrees C to 85 degrees C - is ideal for the automotive sector.
“This growing business unit is based on Sagem Communications’ strong experience in telecommunication industry and mass production” comments Patrick Sevian, Chief Executive Officer of Sagem Communications. “The SAGEM HiLo is a miniaturized module that will considerably increase the number of applications that can utilise this technology, and will allow even small machines to facilitate embedded communications.”
With the high diversity of applications in the M2M market, and all its related constraints, Sagem communications is committed to the development of products and services which best fit the market’s requirements, supplying high quality innovative devices at a competitive price. 20df
